JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- The Jacksonville Sheriff's Office is investigating after a woman in her 30s was nearly abducted while waiting for her kids' school bus Friday afternoon.
The incident occurred near the intersection of Wagner Road and Trout River Boulevard around 3:21 p.m., according to JSO Public Information Officer Melissa Bujeda.
A man in a pickup truck pulled up to the woman, got out of his vehicle and tried to drag the woman in his vehicle. She told police she scratched him, fought him and was able to get away, Bujeda said.
The man did not say anything during the incident, the woman told police. His vehicle was last seen fleeing down Wagner Road toward U.S. 1.
Police are looking for a maroon-colored Nissan pickup truck with a black car cover on the front and a tag that begins with the letter "Z."
The suspect is described as a heavy-set white man in his 40s, 5-foot-7 to 5-foot-9 with dark curly hair with a black and grey beard and was seen wearing a blue flannel shirt, blue jeans, dark baseball cap and boots.
