CLAY COUNTY, Fla. -- A 40-year-old man died after allegedly jumping out of a moving vehicle on US-301 Monday around 4:27 p.m.
According to the Florida Highway patrol press release, 40-year-old Valentino McBride Jr. was driving north at the speed limit with four unidentified passengers after visiting the graveside of family members and other veterans in Lawtey, Florida.
The victim, Lester Garrison, was sitting in the left rear passenger seat of the a Crown Victoria when for unknown reasons he jump out of the vehicle, while it was in motion, the release said.
Garrison hit the inside lane of the roadway many times and died at the scene, the release detailed.
On Monday FHP Sgt. Dylan Bryan said the victim was not run over by other vehicles and no other cars were involved.
Charges are still pending at this time.
