HASTINGS, Fla. -- A woman was arrested Thursday and charged with manipulating office records and organized scheming to defraud her employer, according to the St. Johns County Sheriff's Department.
SJSCO said Carey Lynne Platt, 34, worked as a bookkeeper and office manager for Jackson Veterinary Hospital and during the time of her employment, the company discovered that Platt had stolen more than $200,000.
Investigators discovered that Platt had used the company's business account to pay her personal credit card balances on three credit cards during this time period.
Platt was fired when the thefts were discovered. She had been an employee since April 2009.
She was release from jail after posting a $5,000 bond.
Financial Crimes Detective Henry Miller is continuing the investigation.
