JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- A man attempting to cross Cassat Avenue was struck and killed Saturday night.
According to the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office, the 66-year-old man was struck by a car while he was attempting to cross Cassat Avenue near Tunis Street around 11:30 p.m.
He was pronounced dead on the scene.
The car, a 4-door Saturn, was traveling southbound on Cassat.
The 18-year-old driving the Saturn was not hurt.
JSO is investigating whether alcohol, drugs and speed may have factored into the crash.
The roadway from Quan Dr. to Yerkes Dr. was closed for three hours.
No charges are pending, according to JSO.
