Chisel wielding carjacker Tased, arrested after chase

SATSUMA, Fla. -- After he was beaten, Pjeter Kqira clung to his car for over 400 feet as a carjacker tried to sped away, according to police. Pjeter's wife was still inside the car.

The scene unfolded Thanksgiving day in Satsuma. 

Bounthavong Chanthavong, 39, tried to carjack two different vehicles before before he battered Pjeter and stole his car, according to the Putnam County Sheriff's Office. 

Chanthavong, who was armed with a chisel according to police, told Pjeter he had a gun, pushed him out of the way and climbed in his vehicle. Pejeter's wife Victoria wasn't able to get out of the car. 

Afraid Chanthavong was going to harm his wife, Pjeter held on to the vehicle and was dragged around 400 feet before letting go, according to police. 

Police chased Chanthavong for around two miles before using "stop sticks" to deflate his tires. 

According to police, the 39-year-old tried to flee, but was two shots from a TASER ended the chase.

Bounthavong had a long list of charges when all was said and done. He was charged with aggravated battery, false imprisonment, criminal mischief, armed burglary, motor vehicle theft, carjacking, armed carjacking, resisting an officer without violence and giving false identification to law enforcement. 

He is being held in Putnam County Jail with a bond of $127,000.
