Palm Coast declared state of local emergency after Saturday tornado

PALM COAST, Fla. -- Palm Coast Mayor Jon Netts declared the area a state of emergency Monday afternoon.

The city is recovering and rebuilding following Saturday's tornado that damaged at least 171 homes.

Of those homes, seven are destroyed and 142 partially damaged.

The Flagler County Sheriff's Office is monitoring the affected neighborhoods to protect citizens, homes and property and to keep traffic flow moving.

The City will be working daily to pick up debris piled up street-side until it is no longer needed. Contact the City's Customer Service number at 1-386-986-2360 if you are in need of debris picked up.

Anyone who wishes to volunteer or give donations to help the tornado victims is asked to contact Flagler County Volunteer Services at 386-597-2950 Monday through Thursday from 9:00 a.m. and 4:30 p.m.
