GREEN COVER SPRINGS, Fla. -- Three male boaters were rescued after their boat sank in the St. Johns River south of the Shands Bridge near the shore of the Bayard Conservation Area Wednesday morning.
CCSO said the men have all been located by law enforcement and they are in good condition despite being in the cold water.
Officials said they received a call from a witness that the men were in trouble in the water. The first male boater was located on shore by a hiker in the Bayard Conservation area.
Boats were sent by CCSO to search for the other two males. They were found and rescued.
The three men, 27-year-old Zach Paul, 20-year-old Andrew Huxford and 24-year-old Mitch Moody, were checked out by Clay County Fire and Rescue.
The sunken boat was towed back to the Shands Pier and the owner will remove it.
The cause of the boat's malfunction is unknown.
