Jacksonville, Fla. -- Every Holiday season we are reminded of the true meaning of Christmas and Santa came early for more than two dozen children in Duval County. The gift he delivered is far too big to fit underneath the Christmas tree; that is because it came in the form of a new Mother and Father. Friday, 27 children were adopted into 13 families in the Duval County Courthouse. The honorable David Gooding signed the adoption papers.

Jeannine and John Sales grew their family tree with the adoption of three children, Xane, 6, Xander, 4 and Anabella, 3. The children are joining the Sales' six biological children and their welcoming the addition with open arms- literally.

Their new father, John Sales couldn't have asked for a better gift this Christmas season. He says, "Having three's a blessing, we love it, it's beautiful."

However, the journey to the present was not always so joyful. The children had a tough journey and it all started in their infant years. The children were left in a trailer park alone for hours, and some days, they would wander out of their home and outside. Not only that, often times, they were left with minimal food, which consisted of small amounts of bread. Now, the children can start fresh, with a permanent holiday home.

When asked what the gift of love means to her, Jeannine sales sums it up perfectly saying, "Home, Family, forever family...Forever....Mommy again..."

The adoptions were made possibly by Family Support Services of North Florida. Currently, they are recruiting year-round to find 68 other children forever homes.
