UPDATE, 1/7/14: Michael Joseph Day, 45, is charged with the murder of Kendra Nagy, 33.

Day and Nagy were seen Thursday night at the Overtime Sports Bar on San Juan Avenue, where Nagy works, though she was not working that night.

According to Jacksonville Sheriff's Office Asst. Chief Chris Butler, Day was being belligerent toward Nagy and she asked a friend to drive her home. Day arrived at the home on Sunderland Road just after Nagy and her friend.

Day got out of his car and walked into the house and Nagy followed. Later that night, Nagy sent text messages to her friend, causing Nagy's friend to be concerned for her safety, Butler said.

When Nagy did not show up for work the next day, Nagy's friends went to the house. According to Butler, Day let them in the house and directed them to a bedroom where Nagy was unresponsive.

Day appeared to have been beaten and was also suffering from a self-inflicted single gunshot wound to the head. He is still at UF Health recovering.

UPDATE, 1/6/14:
The female who was found dead in a home on Sunderland Road has been identified as 33-year-old Kendra Nagy, according to JSO Public Information Officer Melissa Bujeda. The investigation is ongoing.

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- One person is dead and another injured after the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office responded Friday to a reported fight.

The incident occurred in the 4600 block of Sunderland Road. JSO Sgt. T. K. Waters said neighbors heard gunshots from the residence overnight and four witnesses found one man bloodied at the home in the morning.

JSO discovered that the unknown man, who appeared to be beaten, was also shot. He was taken to UF Health with life-threatening injuries. JSO also found a woman dead inside the home due to a gunshot wound.

Waters says the man and woman are dating, and JSO is still determining suspects.
