JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- Head-on crash on I-295 southbound leaves two injured and one dead, according to a Florida Highway Patrol press release.
All three victims were transported to UF Health of Jacksonville for treatment.
A 1995 Ford Crown Victoria and a 2008 Nissan Altima were involved in the incident.
There were two people in the Crown Victoria, Jasmine Jack, 21, and Jerome Cason, 35. Jack was not wearing a seat belt and is in serious condition and Cason was wearing a seat belt and later died, the release detailed.
Robert Brown drove the Altmia and is in serious condition.
The press release said one of the vehicles was traveling north on I-295 in the middle southbound lane, north of Wilson Boulevard. It is unknown at this time which vehicle was traveling north, according to the release.
The crash closed I-295 for several hours early Sunday morning.
