JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- Have you heard? The jobs market in Florida is slightly better; recently, unemployment decreased to 10.6 percent.
That's still high and many of you still need to find a job - yesterday. So, here's some good news.

There is big demand for folks in the ship building industry. Huntington Ingalls Industries just got a $118 million contract from the U.S. Navy. Locally, it has nine positions open: shipfitter, composite mechanics, composite fitters, industrial engineer and staff physician.
And, the company is hosting a job fair from 9 a.m. until 4 p.m. Nov. 1 at the FSCJ campus downtown on State Street. These jobs pay between $18 and $22 an hour plus union benefits.
In the banking industry, EverBank has five jobs open right now, including senior accountant of world markets, credit analyst and client services associate.
Whitley Steele is looking for a diesel mechanic and a CDL driver.
